In a hydraulic system, hoses are responsible for transporting oil (or other media) in a safe, efficient manner from one area to another. Therefore, they perform more or less the same function as tubes and pipes, yet hoses have special advantages that these similar parts cannot match.
The flexibility of hoses allows them to fit in areas where tubes and pipes would be impractical or impossible to use, although it is imperative to ensure that the allowable bend radius is not exceeded. Furthermore, hoses have relatively simple maintenance demands. For these reasons and more, hydraulic hoses can be found in many types of machines and vehicles.
In general, hydraulic hoses consist of three layers:
(1) an inner tube that comes into direct contact with the media
(2) reinforcement material (e.g., wire)
(3) the outer layer
The inner tube of a hydraulic hose can be made out of a wide range of materials in order to accommodate the broad spectrum of fluids and media used in these kinds of systems.
In this section, you can explore our current inventory of high-quality hoses, including thermoplastic and oil return hoses. Please be aware that when it comes to searching for hydraulic hoses, selecting the right type is extremely important. A hose that cannot be attached securely, or that cannot tolerate the temperature or abrasive media of the system, can cause major problems. Malfunctioning hoses may lead to damage in hydraulic pumps, loss of system power, or even catastrophic failure. We invite you to contact us if you have difficulty determining which type of hose is best for your application.
