HESSELMAN

The Swedish company Hesselman—actually Hesselman Elhydraulik—begins with the revolutionary engineer who inspired the company's name. In 1925, Jonas Hesselman (1877-1957) unveiled what would come to be known as the Hesselman engine, which was essentially a cross between a diesel engine and an Otto (petrol) engine. These engines were standard components in European trucks and buses during the 1920s and '30s. This led to a collaboration with Volvo, resulting in the Volvo-Hesselman engine that found its way into many LV60-series trucks. The company’s designs were also used in the Hulsebos-Hesselman oil engine once popular in the Netherlands. Eventually, advancements rendered this technology outdated.

Although often remembered for its truck engines, the company later manufactured other types of vehicle components as well, including injection pumps and hydraulic power units for use in trucks and material handling vehicles across the United Kingdom (where the company’s products were made by Hesselman Motor Corporation) and the European continent.

In 1994, Hesselman was acquired by Garphyttan, another Swedish-based manufacturer. Three years later, the company changed its name to Haldex AB, with the hydraulics division being rebranded as Haldex Barnes Hydraulics. This division began developing various engine pumps and gears that earned a reputation for high quality.

Haldex underwent further transformations in 2008 when it acquired Concentric. In 2011, the Haldex hydraulics division demerged and was renamed Concentric AB. The new company’s products included the F12 FERRA hydraulic pump, intended for use in agricultural machinery, materials handling vehicles, and construction equipment. Other creations from this well-known brand include power packs, hydraulic pump motors, fuel transfer pumps, hydraulic engine pumps, gear pumps, emergency steering units, rotary flow dividers/intensifiers, and variable flow oil pumps for use in various types of industrial machinery and systems. These parts convert fluid energy into hydraulic pressure, enabling the effective operation of a wide variety of hydraulic systems and machinery.

Hesselman truck parts and other accessories remain highly respected in the industry.

Hydraulic components from White House Products

At White House Products, we used to sell a unique range of Hesselman gear pumps commonly used in powerpacks.   However these became so overpriced for what they are that we now offer direct fit replacements that offer the same performance at a fraction of the cost whilst still being of European manufacture.  Details about our current inventory of replacement parts can be viewed in this section. Be sure to check back often for updates to our  catalogue.

These products are designed for easy installation, but if you encounter difficulties with the process, or have questions about any of our hydraulic components for sale, feel free to call us for help at +44 (0) 1475 742500. We would be happy to assist you.
