A pioneer in brakes, clutches, wheel speed sensors, and hydraulic parts, Alfred Teves was founded as an automotive accessories company in 1906. It was a recognized automotive parts supplier by 1911. The company, otherwise known as ATE, provided the first hydraulic braking system for a car (the Adler Standard) in 1926, and ATE was serving the motor sports industry by 1934. In the late 1930s it produced the ATE tandem master cylinder and cylinder liners and ribbed cylinders using centrifugal casting.
The ATE pump circulation brake boosters became the first hydraulic components of their kind to be used in car racing in 1954. They appeared in the Mercedes-Benz Silver Arrow. Over the next several decades, the company remained a force in automotive braking systems, introducing the first aftermarket brake disc for Mercedes in 2016.
Due to the cost and problems sourcing many Alfred Teeves products White House Products will attempt to match the pump requirement to an alternative or source a modern ATE unit.
