Adan Ltd., formed in 1968, is a privately owned manufacturer of high torque orbital motor products and gearboxes, based in Boston, England. The Adan hydraulic motor operation was originally based in Staines, Middlesex.  It relocated to Boston, Lincolnshire in 1983, where it has since been based at the Riverside Industrial Estate, producing the Adan hydraulic motor products currently in our inventory.

The company has served the hydraulics market since its inception having originally been the distributor for the Danfoss motor range.  It has grown steadily into road maintenance, mining, marine, railway, food processing, agricultural, vehicle recovery, recycling, and other industries. Adan designs products suited for many types of applications, using the latest innovations in CAD software to design and develop new products and to match customers’ exact specifications and requirements.
 

What Is an Orbital Motor?

The design of a high torque orbital type motor eliminates, in many circumstances,  a gearbox. Heat generation is minimal compared to electric motors, while orbital motors operate at a comparatively low speed with a high amount of torque. The motor requires a pump of sufficient size and pressure capability to operate.  It is generally not suited for applications requiring high-speed performance in excess of 500 rpm.
 
Adan manufactures both the smaller spool valve WVM and WWM and plate valve WMSAm WMTA and WVA hydraulic motors, hydraulic brakes, reduction units, and valves, White House Products is committed to supplying the full range of Adan motors gearboxes and brake units with an enormous variety of flange and shaft configurations to suit many industrial & mobile applications.
